EKSU VC Recommended NUC/COREN For Monitory Of Tertiary Institution In Nig

Tertiary institutions in Nigerian would have become comatose if not because of the monitoring processes by the Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC) and professional bodies such as the Council of Regulation Engineering in
Nigeria (COREN).

The Vice Chancellor of Ekiti State University (EKSU), Professor Samuel Oye Bandele made the assertion during a visit to his office by the
COREN accreditation team led by engr. Reuben Okeke.

The COREN team had been on
accreditation visit to the Department of Computer Engineering in the Faculty of Education in the University.

According to professor Bandele the NUC and COREN should be appreciated by all and sundry
for their roles in improving standards in Nigerian Universities.

He commended the COREN team
that visited the Computer Engineering Department of the University and noted that all
observations made by the team in its report would be addressed.

Professor Bandele promised to provide facilities for the Engineering Department to make it one of the best in Nigerian Universities.

Earlier, Engr. Okeke said the team had come to the University to conduct an impartial assessment of the department.

According to him, the visit included looking at the syllabus, the curriculum, staff and student ratio.

After reeling out the observations of his team, Engr. Okeke thanked the University for the co-operation he received from the university, staff and students of the department.

Principal Officers of the university and other members of the COREN team were at the occasion.
